Privacy Policy

Preach.PW is a scheduling and coordination tool for congregation volunteers. This page explains what information we collect, why we collect it, and how you can control or remove it. If anything here isn't clear, contact us at support@preach.pw.

Information we collect

Account information

Name, email address, and role within your congregation are required to create an account. Phone number, home address, date of birth, gender, and a profile photo are optional and only used where the app displays them (e.g. gender factors into eligibility for certain roles; date of birth is used for age-restricted assignments).

Location

Location sharing is off by default and entirely opt-in, from Settings → Privacy. When enabled, your location is shared with other participants of a shift only while that shift is active — it is not collected before a shift starts, after it ends, or at any other time. Turning the setting off, or letting a shift end, stops location sharing immediately. If you grant "Always" location access, this is used solely to keep sharing your location for the remainder of an active shift if you background the app — never for tracking outside of that window.

Ministry activity

Shift signups, attendance, and reported activity (literature placements, conversations, return visits, and similar tallies) are recorded so your congregation can coordinate scheduling and report on ministry activity, the same way this would be tracked on paper.

Safety (SOS)

If you use the in-app SOS feature during an active shift, we record that the alert was triggered, when, and by whom, and notify your shift's designated contact (or a congregation admin if none is set) so they can respond.

Device & technical data

To deliver push notifications we store a device-specific token (from Apple or Google) tied to your account — never your device's contacts, photos, or other apps. We also collect standard technical data: app version, device platform, and crash/error reports (including a short trail of the actions leading up to a crash) so we can find and fix bugs. Our hosting provider logs standard web request data (IP address, timestamp) for security and reliability, the same as any website.

Who can see your information

Your name, role, and ministry activity are visible to other members of your congregation and its assigned overseers, the same way this information is already shared in an in-person ministry setting. Contact details (phone, address, date of birth) are only visible to congregation elders and admins who need them to coordinate assignments. We do not sell your information, and we do not share it with third parties for advertising.

Third-party services

A few services we rely on process data on our behalf, solely to run the app:

• Apple / Google push services — deliver notifications to your device.
• Mapbox — renders the maps used during active shifts.
• Sentry — collects crash and error reports to help us fix bugs.
• Resend — delivers account and shift emails on our behalf.
• Vercel — hosts our servers.

Data retention & deletion

You can permanently delete your account at any time from Settings → Delete Account in the app. This removes your name, email, phone, address, date of birth, and profile photo from our systems immediately, revokes all active sessions, and stops all notifications to your devices. Shift and ministry-activity records tied to your account stay on file — de-identified — so your congregation's historical records and other members' shift history stay intact, the same way a paper record wouldn't be torn up because one participant is no longer active.

Children's privacy

Preach.PW is intended for congregation volunteers coordinating ministry activity and isn't directed at children. Accounts are created by a congregation administrator, not through public self-signup.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes in a meaningful way, we'll update the date at the top of this page.
